What Is Shamanic Healing?




A Journey Back to Wholeness


In our fast-paced world it’s easy to become disconnected - from ourselves, from nature and from Spirit. Shamanic healing is a beautiful ancient path that helps bring us back into balance and harmony not just physically but emotionally mentally and spiritually.


If you’ve ever felt like something is 'off' but couldn’t quite explain it or you’ve sensed that healing needs to happen on a soul level, Shamanic healing may be calling you.


What Does Shamanic Healing Entail?

Shamanic healing is rooted in indigenous traditions from all around the world. At its heart it’s about restoring harmony between your physical, emotional and spiritual selves. A shamanic healer works with unseen energies - spirit guides, ancestors, nature spirits and the soul itself, to help shift what’s no longer serving you.


This is not just surface-level healing. Shamanic work can go deep - beyond what the mind can often access, reaching into the energetic and spiritual layers of your being. It can support the release of deeply held trauma, inherited patterns or emotional pain that has been carried for lifetimes.



Common Techniques in Shamanic Healing

While every practitioner works differently, here are a few core practices that may be part of a session:


Soul Retrieval – Parts of our soul can fragment during trauma or significant life experiences. Soul retrieval gently calls those lost parts back home so you can feel more whole and grounded. Creating the freedom to move forward.

Power Animal Medicine – Spirit animals may step forward to work with you during this chapter of your journey. Their medicine can offer strength, protection, clarity or support that aligns with what you’re currently moving through

Extraction – This involves clearing energetic blockages or intrusive energies that may be causing imbalance or illness

Energy Clearing – Using tools like feathers, drums, smoke or rattles to shift stagnant or heavy energy from your field and restore your natural flow

Journeying – The practitioner may enter a meditative or trance-like state to receive insights, healing or guidance on your behalf


What Can It Support?


Shamanic healing can assist with:

• Feeling stuck, anxious or overwhelmed

• Emotional wounds or trauma

• Spiritual disconnection or lack of direction

• Repeating patterns in life or relationships

• Feeling energetically heavy, “off” or not quite yourself

• Clearing energy from spaces, homes or ancestral lines



This work often brings up what has been buried or hidden so that it can finally be seen, acknowledged and released. Healing may continue to unfold after your session - some shifts can be immediate, while others rise to the surface in the days or weeks following. You may find emotions bubbling up or feel the need for extra rest as your body and energy integrate.


What Does a Session Feel Like?

Every experience is different. Some people feel energy moving in their body, others receive intuitive messages or see visual images. Some feel peaceful, others emotional or raw. What’s important is that it’s all welcome. You’re not broken, you’re remembering your wholeness.


You may leave feeling lighter, clearer and more connected - or you may feel like something has shifted even if you can’t quite name it yet. Trust that the work continues well beyond the session itself.
